From our Principal
I cannot believe that we are already halfway through Week 4! This term is flying by.
Thankfully the number of students and staff testing positive has slowed dramatically. We must still all remain vigilant, keep washing our hands and if possible wear a mask. Last week we took delivery of 10 000 Rapid Antigen Tests. We still have a large stock of the ‘lollipop’ tests (tongue) and the new tests are the nasal type. Each student is entitled to a box of twenty tests and you can collect these from the front office.
Last week we had an incursion from YSafe. They delivered presentations to students, staff and parents. It was very informative and thank you to those brave souls who ventured out in the storm for the parent workshop. If you were unable to attend you can access the parent resources on the YSafe website by clicking on the following link:
There will be a P&C meeting on Monday 15th August at 7.00pm in the staffroom. All are welcome to attend.
Open night will be held on Wednesday 17th August from 5.30pm-7.00pm. It is an opportunity to visit not only your child’s classroom but also the rest of the school including the specialist rooms. It is not an opportunity to have an in depth interview with the teacher. If you need to meet with the teacher please make a separate appointment. The teacher contact details are on the class letter that was sent home earlier this term.
This year we have changed our supplier and there will be an exciting range of new books on sale in the library from 5.30pm-7.00pm. Sales will be EFTPOS only.
This will take place in Week 6, 23-26 August. The theme is “Dreaming With Eyes Open” The dress up assembly will take place at 9.00 am on Tuesday 23rd August. The emphasis will be on homemade outfits rather than shop bought ones. There will be staff reading to students in the library during lunchtimes and there will be buddy class activities taking place throughout the week.
