Principal's Update - 7

Enriching our students lives through learning

Connolly Primary School Principal

From our Principal

Dear Parents

Covid

There were times this semester I didn’t think we would get to this stage without major disruption and school closures. So far this year we have recorded 4190 full day student absences. This term alone we have had 317 staff absences. It is a credit to all our staff , your amazing children and your great support that we have remained open for learning every day. Thank you.

Staffing

Mr. Michael Chandler has been appointed as our Phys. Ed. specialist for the rest of the year.

Ms Edyta Fazzalari (Ms Fazz to the students) has been appointed as our new library officer. She will be working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Assembly

Today we were treated to an historical re-enactment of the exploits of Moondyne Joe.  The students in Karri 4 did a wonderful job despite one or two technical issues with the microphones. I was very impressed so well done Karri 4 and Ms Cole.

 Crazy Sock Day

Thank you to all who participated and made a gold coin donation. I don’t have a final figure but it raised over $200 as a rough estimate.

Term Dates

School re-opens for staff and students on Monday 18th July. The pupil free day in Term 3 will be on Monday 22nd August. Next term will be a very busy term. Our faction carnival will be held, weather permitting, on Friday 9th September. The Inter-school carnival will be held the following week. I will give further details next term. Open night will be held on Wednesday 17th  August. Further details will be sent out early next term when I have liaised with our new library officer.

On behalf of all our staff have a safe and restful holiday.

Regards

David
